Leadership development is an art

Leadership development is an art.

A delicate balance of seeing the beauty and potential in people and helping them express their unique selves in this world. Recently, my coach asked me why I chose the name “The Art of Self.” Was it about the continuous practice, the mastery, or the beauty?

For me, it is all three.

Mastery: Stepping into your power

Mastery is about committing to self-mastery, which brings focus and purpose. It involves taking 100% responsibility for your life and reality, ending the narratives of distraction, separation, and blame. When you commit to mastery, you do the work, step into your power, and pursue your goals with unwavering dedication.

Practice: The heart of leadership development

Practice is at the core of leadership development. True growth happens when you consistently practice, reflect, experiment, and build awareness. It is about taking courageous action every day, seeking new challenges that foster growth, and cultivating a childlike curiosity for learning and connecting with others.

Beauty: Witnessing the unfolding of potential

Beauty lies in witnessing people develop and unfold their best selves. There’s something profoundly beautiful about the positive ripple effects they create in their lives and the lives of others through their energy and daily actions. As Edgar Degas said, “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”

I am excited with all my clients who have been committing themselves to mastery and always learning, stepping up this week, gaining new insights about themselves and how everything in their life’s is connected, leading themselves and others more consciously - day by day.

Beautiful work!
