The clearest element wins

Not too long ago, I would have found the question, “What do you really want?” rather unsettling. There was a reason I went into consulting - it was the perfect career for someone who loved a challenge and enjoyed working with smart people to create innovative business solutions. It was also the ideal path for someone who wasn’t entirely sure what they really wanted.

But then I realised something crucial: I could only create a different future for myself and others if I was clear about what I wanted that future to look like - and fully committed to making it happen.

Why clarity matters

So, clarity matters - always. Clarity matters in goal setting. Clarity matters in communication and in leadership. If we are not clear, we are confusing ourselves and others.

Real clarity comes from self-awareness, self-knowledge, and experimentation. It involves understanding our mental operating system, knowing what we need to excel, identifying our values, defining our vision for the future, understanding our purpose, and recognising our decision-making style and level of consciousness.

Clarity also comes from establishing habits that help us become clearer every day, reconnecting us with our true selves. This is the essence of personal growth.

How to cultivate clarity

  • Self-awareness: Reflect on your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to understand what drives you.

  • Self-knowledge: Dive deep into your values, purpose, and vision for the future.

  • Experimentation: Test new ideas, approaches, and habits to see what aligns with your goals and values.

  • Daily habits: Establish routines that promote clarity, such as journaling, meditation, or focused goal-setting sessions.

What is absolutely clear in your life right now?

Ask yourself: What is absolutely clear in your life right now? And where do you still lack clarity, and why?

Remember: The clearest element wins.

Clarity leads to focused action, better decision-making, and ultimately, a more fulfilling life.
