What does life need to evolve? Asking new questions for a regenerative future

You have likely heard the famous Einstein quote: "A problem cannot be solved with the same thinking that got us there." This resonates deeply with me, especially in these challenging times.

To regenerate our businesses, economies, and societies, we must start by thinking differently. We need to ask new questions — or we risk receiving the same old answers.

Evolving the questions we ask

During my time in consulting, I focused on asking what customers really need, aiming to develop new, innovative business models. Transitioning into leadership coaching, I shifted my focus to understanding what leaders, teams, organizations, and even ecosystems (beyond just the tech ones) require to grow and thrive.

Now, I'm taking this inquiry one step further by working with communities and places. The central question driving my work has become: What does life need to evolve? 🌱 This includes considering not only human beings but all living beings that share this world with us.

I’ll admit, this is a big, complex question - one that's difficult to grasp at first. But these are the kinds of questions that break us out of automatic thinking. They push us to go deeper, broaden our perspectives, and navigate through complexity.

The power of listening

But it's not just about asking questions; it's also about listening.

  • Listening for deeper motivations.

  • Listening for potential.

  • Listening for new answers.

This approach is essential not just in my role as a leadership coach and regenerative facilitator but also as a human being committed to co-creating new solutions. After all, we are the ones we have been waiting for.

Take action: Ask different questions and listen deeper

💡 So, where can you ask a different question today and listen more deeply—whether at home, at work, or in your community?
